Digital transformation leads to immense changes in business operations and is a difficult test for almost any organization. It is a change that requires an enterprise to have the right, digital-savvy talents in place, experiment often and even be prepared to fail.

Meet three iconic brands that have managed this transformation better than others.

Levi’s Digital Transformation

Like many global apparel brands, Levi’s suffered a massive drop in revenue in 2020, which has pushed the company over the technology tipping point.

The company used the power of AI and data science to automate its manual and painful processes, analyze denim-related data sets, optimize shipping logistics, and expand loyalty programs.

Moreover, by applying AI, the Levi’s brand created several new e-shopping experiences, such as virtual closet experience on Snapchat or virtual concierge service.

The result was that LS&Co. digital transformation efforts led to revenues exceeding pre-pandemic levels.

IKEA’s Digital Transformation

In 2012, the Swedish furniture giant launched the IKEA Home smart project (a fully end-to-end business unit now) with an aim of integrating IoT technology into its products.

The solutions beyond conventional home furnishing include electric blinds, smart lighting, intelligent kitchen equipment and much more.

Besides that, IKEA has created an AR app that lets people virtually “furnish” their own home before making purchases in the store.

The brand goes even further by investing $3.2B to turn part of its store network into an e-commerce hub.

Audi’s Digital Transformation

The premium brand conquered the digital world with its innovative showroom concept named Audi City. The digital showroom doesn’t involve having the physical car presence. Instead, it offers visitors to touch, feel, and customize any car from the entire model range using interactive screens.

Audi City has enabled the company to have a scalable presence worldwide, increasing sales in certain locations by over 60%.
